Thank You!

Community Connection President, Nancy Halpin, would like to publicly thank the many volunteers who worked to make our Independence Day Celebration a truly wonderful event. She would also like to thank Pete Gentile who once again made and donated an Adirondack chair. She looks forward to seeing you all next year.

Independence Day 2014 Set 1

It was a wonderful day with the Paupackan Lake Community. Our celebration began with our annual golf cart parade in honor of our veterans. It was the best parade to date! Our ceremony was lead by one of our children, Luke Silfies (grandson of Betty and Clarence Hampton). During the ceremony the Childrens' Garden was dedicated to our veterans and the newly engraved stone was unveiled. Included below are also some pictures of the actual engraving of the stone done just a few days ago.

A very important part of the day is the food. In addition to the BBQ meal an ice cream truck provided the children with free ice cream.

Going to the beach to eat.
 Special thanks to the cooks.

Independence Day 2014 Set 3

Set #3 of the pictures taken today include the beach and other activities during the day. Some folks organized their own soccer game or horseshoes. Children aged 1 - 14 could try miniature golf and were guaranteed a prize. A large bounce house was a hit with the younger crowd.

Independence Day 2014 set 4

Set 4 of the Independence Day celebration. Pictures shown are of those just relaxing and enjoying the company of friends and relatives. Kayak, chair, 50/50, and hand made quilt chances as well as a ceramic penny auction, were available for sale to help fund future Community Connection projects.
